Stop the Infestation
Repair means nothing while larvae are still feeding.
Vacuuming and moth sprays reach the tips of the pile. Eggs do not sit there. They sit at the base of the knots, down against the foundation, which is why an infestation so often comes back after a surface treatment. Our answer is the same full immersion wash we have used on wool and silk rugs for three generations: the entire rug is submerged and washed through, front, back, and foundation, which clears out larvae, eggs, and the soiling that attracted the moths in the first place. Only after the rug is clean and completely dry does repair begin, so new wool is never knotted into an active infestation.
